Strictly a mechanical thermostat for cooling only, it is simple to use and economical. It operates with a gas filled probe on a 6-foot capillary tube. When the gas contracts or expands in the probe, it triggers a mechanical device inside the control which turns the power on or off. There is no probe temperature readout on the dial, so keeping a thermometer inside the refrigerator is highly recommended to keep track of the actual temperature. With the thermostat control you can turn any freezer or refrigerator into a sophisticated lagering device and more accurately control the temperature of your ales. Simply place the temperature probe into the freezer, plug the thermostat into the outlet and then your freezer into the Control. This thermostat has a range from 30 degrees F to 80 degrees F.

The Johnson Control’s A421 digital temperature controller is great for the brewers kegerator or keezer. You can use this to keep your beer or wine at exactly the temperature you like it. Excellent for fermenting lagers as well. The A421 Series controls are single stage, electronic temperature controls with a single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) output relay.
